As we know, there has of late been a concerted attempt on the part of critics of the USA Patriot Act to weaken the law by repealing sections they say serve only to dismantle the basic rights of law-abiding Americans.
It is a bitter irony indeed that the sole effect of their efforts would be to make it harder to dismantle the basic rights of law-abiding Americans.
So, we are launching a new public relations campaign to remind citizens about the terrorist threat and their best response
to it -- fear and suspicion of each other.
We have once again turned to the nice people at the Childrens Television Workshop -- who did such a great job on the No Child Left Behind theme song a while back -- to provide the campaign with a stirring musical teaching aid.
